Bible Drawings

World events are unsettling in a number of ways, and I thought I’d make some drawings that dealt with the sense that life is trouble and foundations are shaky. The Bible seemed like the right material for that. In the Bible we find very early instances of people using the written word to try to deal with the things that continue to mess us up: lust, hunger, having a body, terror of the unknown, infuriating injustice. We encounter our predecessors striving, failing, dreaming up strange rituals, scratching, moaning. It can give you an itch to draw.
